Bar Cart Styling

One of my favorite pieces to style in any home is a bar cart. Not only is a bar cart functional (hello, cocktails !!) but there are so many different ways to style one.

I like to keep the core components — alcohol, drinkware, decanters — and switch out other pieces based on the season. For instance, the textured white vase with the faux greenery is perfect for a year-round option. During the holiday season, I use a tall, clear vase filled with red berry stems to make it a little more festive and switch out the milk glass jar for a gold-rimmed glass filled with peppermint sticks.

Bottles of varying heights are also key to a composed bar cart. I always like to bring height into any styled space. Not only is it visually appealing, but it makes the final product look “finished.” Adding the greenery in the vase adds to the height factor, but also helps to make the bar cart look more like an intentional piece of furniture and less like just some place to put your booze. Not everything on your bar cart needs to serve a functional, drink-related purpose.

Something else I love to use around or on a bar cart is a fun, libation-type print. On an earlier version of my bar cart, I used a “Cheers!” print which I put into a frame and placed on the bar cart. This time around, I hung a chalkboard sign made by my amazing sister-in-law for my wedding. Not only does it tie in with the bar cart space, but I love the great memories I have of my wedding each time I look at it!

This print is opposite my bar cart, but again, it adds to to the “cocktail theme” of the area without being too over the top. I ordered this print from Etsy (such a great place to find prints!) and then I framed it using a matte black frame.
